1. Joint and Cartilage Protection
The sulfur element in MSM is an important component for forming connective tissues such as collagen and chondroitin sulfate. It can help repair cartilage damage, alleviate arthritis, joint pain, and stiffness. Studies have shown that MSM reduces joint inflammation by inhibiting inflammatory factors (such as TNF-α, IL-6), and may also delay the progression of bone and joint degeneration.
2. Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant Effects
MSM participates in the synthesis of glutathione in the body by providing sulfur groups, thereby enhancing the antioxidant capacity and reducing the damage caused by free radicals to cells. At the same time, it can inhibit the nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) pathway, reduce inflammatory responses, and have certain auxiliary improvement effects on chronic inflammatory diseases (such as enteritis, allergies).
3. Skin health
MSM can promote the repair of the stratum corneum, enhance the skin barrier function, and reduce redness, dryness and acne. Its anti-inflammatory properties may be effective for skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis. Additionally, sulfur is involved in keratin synthesis, which helps improve the strength of hair.
