It was originally found in shark liver oil, also known as cod liver oil terpenes; Vegetable squalene, also known as squalene, is a colorless or yellow transparent oily liquid with a pleasant smell. It is mainly used in food, cosmetics, medicine and other fields.
Vegetable squalene has a strong oxygen-carrying capacity, which can enhance the antioxidant capacity of cells, improve the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the body.
Vegetable squalene emulsifies easily in standard cosmetics formulations (e.g., cream, ointment, sunscreen), so it can be used as a moisturizer in creams (cold creams, cleansers, moisturizers), lotions, hair oils, hair creams, lipsticks, aromatic oils and powders. It also acts as an antioxidant and free radical scavenging agent. In addition, squalene can also be used as a high fat agent in high grade soap.
